The leader of Youth Congress accuses the government's foreign policy for the current LPG shortage.

In a speech at a gathering of the Odisha unit of Youth Congress, Uday Bhanu Chib, the president of the organization, expressed his concern over the current LPG crisis faced by the people. He blamed the faulty foreign policy of the Centre for this situation, stating that despite promises of adequate fuel supply, people are forced to pay exorbitant prices for cooking gas cylinders in the black market, which can go up to Rs 3,500. Chib held the Centre accountable for this crisis, saying that their failure in foreign policy has caused great inconvenience for the general public.

He further added that this crisis has not only affected the common people, but also small food stalls and restaurants, which have been forced to shut down due to the unavailability of affordable LPG. Shifting the focus to the issue of unemployment, Chib mentioned that over 12 lakh youths have registered for jobs in the state, but there are still around 2 lakh vacant positions. He criticized the state government for its failure to provide safety and security to minority communities and women.

Bringing up the recent fire incident at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, Chib demanded the resignation of the health minister on moral grounds. He highlighted the double standards of the BJP government, stating that during the UPA regime, the railway minister used to resign on moral grounds whenever a train accident occurred. However, the current government seems to have no sense of moral responsibility towards the people.

Chib also urged the BJP-led NDA government to scrap the anti-farmer US trade deal immediately. He emphasized that the Congress will continue its protests across the country until this deal is revoked. However, when the Youth Congress members were marching towards the Assembly to raise their voice, they were stopped and several supporters, including Chib, were detained by the police.

In conclusion, Chib asserted that the LPG crisis and the failure of the government to address important issues like unemployment and safety of minority communities and women, clearly indicate the need for a change in leadership. He urged the public to unite and raise their voice against the irresponsible and ineffective policies of the current government.
