Olympic gold medalist Adam Peaty changed his name from "Dan" to honor his father's legacy and better connect with his roots.

Adam Ramsay-Peaty, the three-time Olympic gold medallist, and his wife Holly Ramsay recently tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony attended by high-profile guests such as the Beckhams. After the wedding, the couple wasted no time in changing their names on social media to reflect their new union. At the 2026 Commonwealth Games, Adam was announced as "Adam Ramsay-Peaty" twice, once during the 100m breaststroke final and again during the 50m race. His wife Holly was present in the stands, cheering him on, and he even kissed her stomach as they are expecting their first child together. Speaking of feuds, the tension within Adam's family has been well-documented, with his parents and siblings being blocked on Instagram and almost a year-long estrangement. However, Holly's hen do at Soho Farmhouse, which was attended by Victoria Beckham, Tana Ramsay, and Adam's sister, may have played a role in the family drama. According to a family member, the lavish celebration had caused a rift, with some feeling that Adam had changed because of "money, fame, and fortune." Amid all the drama, Adam and Holly tied the knot at Bath Abbey in December, with Holly's father, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, walking her down the aisle.
