During his time at Morgan State, Sterling was a driving force in advancing our athletics programs, establishing strong partnerships, and ensuring the financial and operational success of our department. He was not only a colleague, but also a leader, mentor, and friend to many. Dena Freeman-Patton, our vice president and director for Intercollegiate Athletics, expressed her heartfelt condolences, saying, "Sterling's passion for athletics and dedication to elevating Morgan's programs was evident in everything he did. He worked tirelessly to provide our student-athletes with the resources and opportunities they needed to thrive. His impact will be felt for years to come."
