CIPET and MCL collaborate for practical job training.

In an effort to provide employment opportunities to the youth of Odisha, CIPET: CSTS, Bhubaneswar and MCL, Sambalpur have joined hands and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). According to official sources, this collaboration aims to offer specialized training programs under the third phase of the National Initiative for Placement of Unemployed (NI PUN-3). The signing of the MoU took place on Tuesday, with the MCL General Manager Jyotirmoy Sinha and CIPET: CSTS, Bhubaneswar Deputy Director and Head Jayanta Kumar Das leading the way.

This collaboration will benefit 520 unemployed youths from MCL's operational areas as well as aspirants from other districts of Odisha. The selected candidates will receive four months of free, employment-oriented training in two technical trades. During the signing ceremony, CIPET Technical Officer Prashant Kumar Sadangi spoke about the successful projects that have been undertaken by CIPET and MCL in the past, including NIPUN-1, NIPUN-2, and Kovida.

He also mentioned some of the initiatives that have been launched to promote entrepreneurship and provide sustainable livelihoods to the youth, such as 'Handyman', 'Sahayog', and 'Udaan'. Expressing his gratitude, Sinha thanked CIPET for organizing various skill development programs that have been sponsored by MCL and wished them success for NIPUN-3. Das also commended MCL's efforts through NIPUN-3 to improve the lives of the poor and needy youth.

Under the previous phases of NIPUN, namely NIPUN-1 and NIPUN-2, around 2,000 youths from across the state were trained in various trades at CIPET and were successfully employed. Additionally, through MCL's 'Kovida' initiative, 40 deserving and unemployed youths are selected every year by CIPET and provided with two years of ITI training, along with employment opportunities. This collaboration between CIPET and MCL is a significant step towards bridging the gap between unemployment and skill development in the state of Odisha.

It is a commendable effort that will not only provide employment opportunities but also empower the youth to become self-sufficient and contribute to the growth of the nation.
