TV presenter Miranda Krestovnikoff has been revealed as the star performer at this year's Scottish Marine Fest. Krestovnikoff, who gained notoriety as one of the hosts of the BBC's Coast show, will kick off the festival on June 8th. The five-day event will take place at the Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick until June 12th. Other attractions during the festival include Vicky Allan and Anna Deacon talking about their selection of wild swimming books, and conservationist Caitlin Turner, who will give a presentation about her position representing Scotland on the Youth Advisory Council for World Ocean Day.
Susan Davies, Chief Executive at the Scottish Seabird Centre, commented: "In its third year, the program is gathering momentum, and we have an impressive range of speakers headlining this year.
The festival allows us to use storytelling, art, food, drinks, and science to help people learn more about Scotland's amazing marine wildlife and habitats. With the Bass Rock, the world's largest northern gannet colony, as a backdrop, the local community and visitors will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of interesting activities over the course of five days. Behind all that we do is the very serious message of the need to take immediate action to address the impacts of climate change and loss of nature - we aim to inspire people to think about what they can do individually to help nature."
