27 maoists in Jharkhand have surrendered as part of an operation against the Naxal movement.

In Ranchi, a significant event took place on Thursday as a group of 27 Maoists decided to surrender themselves before the police. The surrender was witnessed by Jharkhand DGP Tadasha Mishra and other senior officers of the Jharkhand Police, Jharkhand Jaguar, and the CRPF. These Maoists, who were associated with the banned CPI, made the brave decision to leave behind their arms and join the mainstream society.

According to officials, the surrendered Maoists were wanted in a number of cases and their surrender was a part of the ongoing initiative called 'Operation Navjeevan'. It is worth mentioning that in the year 2026, a total of 22 Maoists were eliminated, 44 were arrested, and 29 surrendered. Encouraged by this success, a senior police officer urged the remaining few to also give up their violent ways and return to the mainstream society.

DGP Mishra also expressed his determination to continue the joint efforts of the security forces in eradicating extremism from the state. He assured that the 27 Maoists who surrendered on Thursday will be provided with full support for their rehabilitation. The CRPF IG Saket Singh also appealed to those who have not yet surrendered to abandon the path of violence and join the mainstream society.

This news was reported by Orissa POST, which is known as Odisha's No.1 English Daily. It is a significant development in the state and reflects the positive impact of continuous efforts towards peace and harmony. Let us hope that more individuals will follow in the footsteps of these 27 Maoists and choose a peaceful and law-abiding life.
