Woman and two infants hospitalized following car and bus collision.

A woman and her two young children were involved in a car accident this morning. The accident occurred just before 10:30am when a bus collided with the woman's grey Audi A3 at the intersection of Warrington Road and Chatsworth Road in Rainhill. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene and the woman, who is in her 40s, along with her two babies were taken to the hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.

Thankfully, it appears that the injuries sustained by those on the bus are not serious. In order to deal with the incident, road closures have been put into place and drivers are being asked to avoid the area. This has also resulted in diversions on the 10A bus route, which runs from St Helens to Liverpool ONE.

According to a statement from Arriva, the bus company involved, the service 10A is being diverted due to the road closure. They have also omitted certain roads in the area as a result of the accident. A nearby resident reported hearing the sound of a helicopter and went outside to see what was going on.

Others in the area also rushed to the scene to see what had happened. Police are still in the early stages of their investigation and are asking for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. Detective Sergeant Andy Roper from the Matrix Serious Collision Investigation Unit urges anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact the police.

He also encourages those in the area who have CCTV to review their footage, even if they think it may not be relevant. Any information could be crucial to their investigation. If you have any information about the accident, you can contact the Merseyside Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

Alternatively, you can also report information anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers. The police are determined to find out the full circumstances of the accident and are asking for the public's help.
