What will The Witcher 3's upcoming DLC, Songs Of The Past, focus on?

It's no secret that fans are eagerly anticipating the new DLC for The Witcher 3, and according to some rumors, it seems like Ciri might play a major role in it. In fact, one reader even suggests that the DLC might explore the death of Geralt, setting up the story for The Witcher 4. Personally, I'm excited to see what CD Projekt has in store for us, but I can't help but wonder if there are any other surprises in store.

Speaking of exciting new releases, it seems like Mina The Hollower is getting rave reviews and has become a top-rated game on Metacritic. This is just another example of what a fantastic year it's been for gaming so far. And while some may worry that the second half of the year might be quieter, I'm optimistic that with games like Wolverine, Fable, and whatever Nintendo is cooking up, there will be plenty to keep us entertained.

But that's not all, as I'm sure there will be more surprises and announcements to come. For example, it was recently revealed that IO Interactive has big plans for more Bond games, which is exciting news for fans of Hitman. However, I can't help but worry that they might overextend themselves and potentially risk the future of the company.

But with such positive reviews for their latest game, 007 First Light, I might just have to give it a try. In other news, it seems like the hype for GTA 6 is at an all-time high, but not everyone is convinced that it will live up to expectations. And while I certainly hope it's a good game, I won't be too disappointed if it falls short.

After all, Rockstar has plenty of successful titles under their belt, and they'll likely continue to rake in the profits from their online components. Meanwhile, it's unfortunate to see another Sony live service game go under, but I can't say I'm surprised considering it didn't receive the best reviews. Hopefully, they'll learn from this and not make the same mistake with future releases.

And speaking of Sony, I was surprised to hear that someone actually owns an Xbox Ally X portable. While I don't use it much at home, it's been a lifesaver for my travels, despite the frequent updates. But overall, I've had a great experience with it and even got to try out some games I never would have otherwise.

But enough about gaming, let's end on a lighter note. It's always interesting to see the different perspectives and opinions of our readers, and I'm glad to see that some are just as excited for the upcoming 007 First Light as I am. And who knows, maybe it'll even surprise us and become the next big thing.

But until then, let's keep our fingers crossed and enjoy all the amazing games that are still to come. It's no surprise that Ciri is highly anticipated for the new DLC. On Thursday, the letters page suggested trying out Ball X Pit for free, with one of our readers giving his review of the Xbox Ally X portable.

I'll be keeping an eye on the CD Projekt presentation on Thursday, but I can't help but wonder if there's any speculation about what it could be about. My best guess is that it may revolve around the death of Geralt, since he won't be the main character in The Witcher 4. However, CD Projekt has confirmed that he will still be a part of the game, just not as the protagonist.

Considering that Geralt had essentially retired in the last DLC, I have a feeling that something personal will motivate him to come out of retirement. My guess is that it may have something to do with Ciri, which would then set up the story for The Witcher 4. Personally, I think it's a great idea and I hope other games follow suit.

Although, I do think it's a bit cheap to not release the DLC for PlayStation 4. After all, that's the platform that most people played the game on and not everyone has upgraded yet. But I suppose you can't have everything.

Moving on, it seems like we have another highly-rated game on our hands. Mina The Hollower has received a score of 90+ on Metacritic for most platforms. As one of our readers mentioned yesterday, if it weren't for the second half of the year being relatively quiet, this game could potentially become an all-time favorite.

Although I may be a bit more optimistic than some, as there are still some highly-anticipated games to look forward to.

Even though GTA 6 may be taking all the attention in November, we still have games like Wolverine, Fable, and whatever Nintendo has in store for us. And that's just naming a few of the biggest games, so I have no doubt that there will be plenty of other releases as well. Plus, we can't forget about Onimusha: Way Of The Sword!

So, it's safe to say that 2026 is far from over. It's interesting to hear that IO Interactive has big plans for more Bond games. As a fan of Hitman, I hope they don't end up overextending themselves.

When you're publishing your own games, one failure can mean the end of the company, so it would be a shame if this turns out to be a good game but ends up bankrupting the studio. Speaking of Bond, I must admit that I'm not a huge fan of the franchise. However, after hearing all the positive reviews for 007 First Light, I may just have to give it a try.

I think a combination of the reviews and supporting IO will ultimately push me to try it out. Sorry, wallet! Moving on to another topic, I'm relieved to see that I'm not the only one worried about GTA 6 not living up to the massive hype surrounding it.

Don't get me wrong, I hope it's a good game, but even if it's not, it won't be the end of the world. I highly doubt that it will have a significant impact on Rockstar's earnings, as they make a fortune from their online components alone. Personally, I just hope that the single-player aspect of the game is enjoyable enough to keep me coming back after finishing the main story.

Unfortunately, with GTA 5, I only played it until I completed the story, tried out the broken online mode, and then sold it on Xbox 360. I did get it for free on the Epic Games Store, but I've never played it due to the complicated process of modding it. Fingers crossed for November!

Next up, it seems like another Sony live service game has failed. Despite being a near-launch game, Fairgame$ was not on my radar at all. It's no surprise, considering it received poor reviews.

I hope Sony has learned its lesson by now, but I highly doubt it. Just the other day, we heard rumors that they are planning to change the name for one of their upcoming games, which will most likely turn out to be another flop. It's a shame that publishers are willing to waste millions of dollars just for a 0.000001% chance of success.

On a lighter note, I may be one of the rare few who own a ROG Xbox Ally X. My wife actually got it for me as an early Christmas present, and it was quite a pleasant surprise. I don't use it much at home, mainly for when I'm traveling for work, which is about twice a week on average.

Although, I must say, it does love to update every time I leave it for a week or so. It's not a problem if I remember to check for updates before I leave, but it can be quite a hassle when trying to do it over hotel Wi-Fi. Other than that, I have had a great experience playing games on it.

The battery life is good, and I've had no issues with crashes or bugs. I even picked up a cheap mouse and keyboard to use with it, and it works perfectly fine. For those who were concerned about the weight, I personally don't find it to be a problem.

However, my daughter mentioned that it was a bit heavy when she played Doom for six hours straight. I've shown it off to others, and it has received a warm reception, with most people being impressed with the graphics and screen quality. Of course, the price tag can be a bit of a shock to some.

Overall, I'm quite happy with my purchase. Oh, and for the reader who was hoping for a browser on the PlayStation 6, the Xbox Ally X has one! And with that, we've come to the end of our inbox for today.

Keep sending in your comments and opinions to email. We appreciate all the feedback and love hearing from our readers. Until next time!
