Oprah Winfrey loves some of the cookies created by Marissa and Jeff Allen’s business Cookie Society. According to Fox Business, the couple based the recipes off a delicious cookie they had tasted while on a trip to New York City in 2017. Jeff said his wife Marissa attempted to recreate the recipe when they returned home to North Texas.
The Allens launched their business in 2018 and included the Banana Pudding cookie that had inspired them in the first place. Jeff said he hadn’t seen anyone else make such a cookie before. To test their recipes, they asked Jeff's NFL teammates for feedback while he was an offensive lineman for the Houston Texans.
The couple opened their first brick-and-mortar location in 2019 after Jeff left the NFL. They were then contacted by Oprah and considered for her “Favorite Things” list. In 2020, during the holiday season, their cookies made it onto the list.
Since the business’s official opening, the Allens have whipped up over 70 cookie recipes and opened two storefronts in North Texas. Customers can buy the cookies in packs and even sign up for a subscription plan with nationwide shipping. With all these delicious recipes, it’s no wonder why Oprah loves Cookie Society so much.
