Kushalnagar, Aug. 12: An incident occurred near Muttina Mullusoge, near Kushalnagar, when a cow that had gone to graze fell into a huge ditch belonging to the Irrigation Department.

Six wells of more than 50 feet deep have been drilled in the Irrigation Department's pump house built on the banks of the Cauvery river near Muttina Mullusoge, near Kushalnagar. Through these, water is being pumped and pumped to the lakes in the Periyapatna area.

The cow fell into the ditch while it was grazing. The Kushalnagar Fire and Emergency Service Department officer and staff, who arrived immediately after receiving the information, successfully lifted the cow after a 3-hour operation.

The incident occurred at a project unit belonging to the Cauvery Irrigation Department, which pumps water from the Cauvery river to more than a hundred lakes in Periyapatna taluk. The cow did not suffer any major life-threatening injuries due to the water accumulation at the bottom.

The Kushalnagar fire brigade and locals, who carried out the operation by using a huge crane that was being used in nearby Bettadapura, lifted the cow, which was struggling with a groan after falling into the water of the ditch.

The cow's owner, Chandru, thanked the fire and irrigation departments and locals for their cooperation in bringing out the three-month pregnant cow with minor injuries.

The operation, led by Kushalnagar Fire Station Officer Ranjith, was attended by personnel such as Premananda, Sandeep, Vasant, Dinesh, Shashikumar, Praveen, and the staff of the irrigation department officer and locals.
