Pusha T and Pharrell Williams have joined forces once again, this time not in the recording studio but at the breakfast table. The two longtime collaborators have teamed up to launch Grindin Coffee in partnership with Italian coffee company Lavazza, after years of working together creatively. This new venture is centered around their shared work ethic and is designed for entrepreneurs, creators, and people on-the-go.
And it even gives a new meaning to the name of their iconic song "Grindin'," which was released in 2002 and produced by Williams and Chad Hugo as The Neptunes. Pharrell expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, "Pusha and I have been building together since the beginning. From creating 'Grindin' back in 2002 to now, our focus and intention have always been at the forefront.
And coffee has been a crucial part of that discipline, always present in the room with us during our creative sessions. And now, it finally has a name." For Pusha T, this product is more than just a collaboration, it's rooted in a daily routine he and Pharrell developed during their creative process. "P and I used to wake up at 5 a.m.
every day, that was our routine. And the first thing we did was make black coffee or the strongest espresso we could find," he explained. This routine eventually became a cycle of creating music, exercising, and then returning to work.
"We were on a constant grind. We'd be in the studio locked in, and then we'd go ride 25 miles on our bikes. That was our rhythm, create, move, create again." Grindin Coffee is currently only available through the brand's website and features medium and dark roast blends in both ground and whole-bean formats.
The brand's first two offerings are positioned as premium, with the dark roast featuring notes of cocoa, caramel, and brown spice, and the medium roast combining bittersweet chocolate, caramel, and roasted hazelnut. These blends can be prepared as filter coffee, espresso, or cold brew. Pusha T emphasized that their target customer extends beyond traditional coffee drinkers, stating, "Our customer is someone who builds things.
The kind of person who wakes up and gets to work, who works out every day, who builds a strong community around them." And for the rapper and entrepreneur, this philosophy is the foundation of their business. "It's all about the grind. It's the first step before you build something.
That's why this brand exists." With their shared dedication and work ethic, Pusha T and Pharrell Williams are proving that the grind never stops, and it's the key to success.
