People are becoming too negative about Xbox and its products - it needs to stop.
I've noticed a lot of negative attention being directed towards the Xbox Series X recently, and it worries me. It almost seems like some people are actively trying to paint the console as a disaster and see Microsoft fail, which would be a terrible outcome for the entire games industry. It's concerning to see articles suggesting that Microsoft is on its last legs or that some of its games have been disappointing, like Forza Motorsport.

That's why I wanted to write in with this Reader's Feature in defence of the Xbox Series X. I'm far from a Microsoft fanboy - I've owned a PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and now an Xbox Series X. Out of all these consoles, I'd say the Switch is my favourite. I also don't like Microsoft's attempts to dominate Sony by buying out all these games companies.

Having said that, I've been really impressed with my Xbox Series X since I got it around three months ago. The main reason for that is Game Pass - it's been invaluable to me with my limited gaming time. It's allowed me to jump into short games like Jusant or Cocoon when I only have 15 minutes, or longer games like Halo Infinite and Dead Space when I have more time. Plus, I used the Xbox Live Gold to Game Pass conversion loophole, so I'm getting 18 months of Game Pass for under £4 per month - it's incredible value.

I admit that Xbox's exclusives aren't as impressive as PlayStation's, but there's still a great list of first-party games like Forza Horizon, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Forza Motorsport, Halo Infinite, Hi-fi Rush, and Starfield. The only downside to Game Pass is that there's so much choice, which can make it hard to settle on just a couple of games.

Aside from Game Pass, I've also been really pleased with the Xbox Series X controller and Quick Resume feature. Microsoft still need to improve their overall game and bring out a killer first-party title, but I'd still encourage anyone on the fence to give the Xbox Series X a try.
