Paanie Kashyap is making her acting debut in the upcoming movie Pyaar Hai Toh Hai, starring opposite Karan Hariharan and directed by Pradeep R K Chaudhary. The Free Press Journal caught up with the newbie actress for an exclusive chat.
When asked about her background, Paanie revealed that she is a small town girl with dreams of making it big in the world of Hindi Cinema. She acknowledged that it was not easy for her in the beginning, being young and naive, but soon she learnt the tricks of the trade. Paanie realized that her confidence was her biggest asset, but honing her professional skills was also necessary. This realization ultimately led her to theatre, where she became part of multiple workshops and theatre groups. She went on to star in Ashadh Ka Ek Din, a classic play written by Mohan Rakesh in 1958.
Paanie approached every show as if it was her debut, and that experience helped her to feature in a short film and a music video of Sajana. She was then ready to take on films. Paanie shared that she was offered a few roles, but decided to wait for something better. After one such audition, the makers called her to inform that Paanie was the perfect 'Nimmo' they were looking for.
Now, the film is ready for its release on the silver screens on September 28. Paanie expressed her excitement saying that she has butterflies in her stomach, as she eagerly awaits the release.
