In Emmerdale, Lewis meets a tragic end when he becomes a victim in a murder plot.

Lewis Barton had always dreamt of a peaceful holiday, away from all the chaos of the village. But little did he know that this vacation would turn into a nightmare. He was about to lose the love of his life, Vinny Dingle, in the most tragic way possible.

And to make matters worse, he was now facing a dangerous criminal who had kidnapped him, and to top it off, his long-lost father had suddenly reappeared. This was straight out of a classic Emmerdale episode, and it was bound to leave the viewers in tears. It was no secret that Vinny's exit from the show was imminent, and as soon as it was announced, fans knew that it was only a matter of time before their hearts were shattered.

The two had been through so much together, ever since Vinny arrived in the village seven years ago with his mother, the iconic Mandy Dingle. Vinny had been on a journey of self-discovery, realizing his attraction towards men, and Lewis had been an important part of that journey. Lewis, being a gay man with autism, knew what it felt like to be different.

He had opened up his flat to Vinny, giving him a safe space to process his feelings and come to terms with his sexuality. This had eventually led to the end of Vinny's marriage to Gabby Thomas, but he finally accepted who he was. What started off as a quirky friendship soon turned into a deep and meaningful relationship, and their first kiss happened after they saved a runaway sheep together.

Lewis and Vinny were a perfect pair, and their bond was something out of a romantic novel. They were like Emmerdale's version of Heartstopper, and it was ironic that the actor who played Lewis, Bradley Riches, had started his career on that very show. However, with the cuts that ITV had announced this year, Vinny was just one of the many characters who had to say goodbye to the Dales, along with Olivia Bromley and Jimmy King.

It was unclear what Vinny's exit would entail, but many fans speculated that it had something to do with Lewis' father, Kev Townsend. The man-bunned menace had first appeared as Robert Sugden's prison husband, and now he was back to reconnect with his son and open a café with the hilariously named "A Slice of Kev-en". It was hard to imagine anyone buying a cake from this shady character.

Lewis' life was about to take a drastic turn with the arrival of his unhinged father, and it seemed like his relationship with Vinny was at stake. In the previous week's episode, Vinny had surprised Lewis with a spontaneous trip to Madeira. However, Lewis' anxiety had gotten the best of him, and he had backed out at the last minute.

He had insisted that Vinny go on the trip without him, leaving him feeling bittersweet. After some encouraging words from his brother Ross, Lewis had a change of heart and rushed to catch up with Vinny at the airport. However, their Love Actually moment was interrupted when Lewis was violently thrown into a van.

This was definitely not the holiday he had envisioned. In this week's episode, Ross received a concerning message about Lewis' abduction and realized that his father was involved. He teamed up with Liam to dig deeper and discovered that Kev was indeed Lewis' father.

But their investigation was cut short when Kylie, Lewis' kidnapper, approached Ross and demanded that he return her "most precious thing in the world" in exchange for Lewis' safety. Meanwhile, a terrified Lewis was being held captive by Kylie, and when he asked her if she was going to kill him, she responded enigmatically, only fueling his fear. Ross and Liam were frantically trying to save Lewis, but time was running out.

Kylie had threatened Ross with scalpels, and she was not backing down until she got her precious diamond back. The situation was getting more intense by the minute, and everyone was on edge. Will Kev and Ross be able to save Lewis from Kylie's clutches before it's too late?

And with Vinny's exit looming over them, will he get caught in the crossfire? These were the questions that had the fans on the edge of their seats, eagerly waiting for the next episode.
