Excitement is building for the upcoming opening of the Obama Presidential Center Museum this summer. The highly anticipated attraction, located in Chicago's Southside Jackson Park, is set to open its doors on June 19th. As the Windy City eagerly prepares for its newest landmark, the Obama Foundation has provided more details on how visitors can experience the museum firsthand.

According to NBC Chicago, tickets for the cultural landmark will officially go on sale on May 6th, giving people from near and far the opportunity to witness the years-in-the-making development. However, members of the Obama Foundation will have early access to purchasing tickets starting on April 21st. These tickets will be timed and grant entry to all four levels of the museum.

The Obama Center is expected to make a splash across the nation, inviting people of all backgrounds to experience the legacy of the first Black president and first lady. With immersive exhibits and unique features like a basketball court, library, recording studio, and visitor garden, there is something for everyone to enjoy at the Center's grand opening this June. "The Obama Presidential Center Museum tells the incredible story of President Obama and Michelle Obama, as well as the people who inspired their journey.

Through dynamic exhibits spanning four floors, visitors can explore the promise of democracy and the impact of the Obama presidency," shared the Obama Foundation on their website. As for the cost of tickets, it will vary depending on where one resides. Illinois residents 12 years and older can enjoy a reduced fare of $26, while the standard cost is $30.

Children's tickets will range from $15 to $23, with kids under two entering for free. For local residents who prefer not to spend money, the state's Free Days Program offers free admission every Tuesday during select hours, starting on June 23rd. Additionally, first responders, educators, and military personnel can also expect tickets at the box office.

Fans of the Obamas and cultural enthusiasts are encouraged to keep an eye out for when tickets become available for purchase.
