Josie Gibson sets the record straight on a major misunderstanding regarding the I'm A Celebrity jungle.
Last year, the beloved TV star graced our screens on popular shows such as ITV's Big Brother, I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, and This Morning. At 39 years old, Josie Gibson is certainly a busy bee as she takes on a new Christmas show on Channel 4, a luxury travel show on Channel 5, and a major campaign with Tombola bingo. In our interview with her, she shares her tips for surviving the jungle, her fear of spiders, and how she's all about lounging in silk pyjamas.

"Hey Josie, what's been keeping you busy?" we ask. With a laugh, she replies, "I've practically been living in my silk pyjamas all day! Can you believe it? But that's because I've been filming a brand new show with Channel 4 called The Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide with me, Josie Gibson!" Curious, we ask if she got any gifts out of the show. Josie quickly clarifies, "Not a single one! In fact, I had to do an online shop for the gifts that were featured because they were kept for shooting."

With all the buzz surrounding the upcoming season of I'm a Celebrity..., we couldn't help but ask if Josie will be tuning in. "Are you kidding?" she exclaims. "I wouldn't miss it for the world!" However, Josie admits that her experience on the show was not all fun and games. She reveals her crippling fear of spiders, and how it made her time in the jungle a bit more challenging. "I know people say they're afraid of spiders, but for me, it's a real phobia. And out there, those spiders are like monsters, I tell you! They're as big as your head!"

When asked about her advice for someone about to enter the jungle, Josie says, "Expect the worst. It's a lot harder than I thought it would be. And in my series, it rained a lot. But more importantly, don't forget that this is the real jungle, not a TV studio with a bit of greenery. You're sharing it with venomous snakes, spiders that bite, and other dangerous creatures."

Josie also shares a funny anecdote about her encounter with a spider while filming. "They tried to put me in a box with a spider, and I swear I've never moved so fast in my life! I nearly gave myself a splinter trying to get out of that box. I think I even shed a few tears, it was that terrifying."

We then ask Josie about her fellow campmates and if she still keeps in touch with them. She reveals, "We have a WhatsApp group, so we do communicate from time to time. But we're all so busy. I actually work with Sam, he's on This Morning with us."

Having won Big Brother in 2010, we ask Josie if it's any different being in the jungle with regular people instead of celebrities. She responds, "No, I don't think it is. For me, Big Brother was a lot easier because I didn't have my little boy. But in the jungle, I probably wasn't the best version of myself because I missed him so much. And as soon as you land, you have to make your last phone call, and then they take your phone away for a whole month. It's tough."

Reflecting on her experience, Josie admits that she never thought she could win the show. "Because of my fear of spiders, I knew I wouldn't make it far. I thought I'd be one of the first to go. But my fellow campmates were amazing. They knew not to put me up for tasks that involved spiders. But I wish I had conquered my phobia before going on the show."

Aside from her TV appearances, Josie also reveals that she's been working on a luxury travel show for Channel 5, set to air next year. "I've been everywhere, babes! And let me tell you, we found some of the best hotels on a budget. It's all about luxury for less."

Josie has also partnered with Tombola on their Open For Fun campaign, where they've hidden QR codes in major cities for people to find and win prizes. When asked what everyday task she hates the most, Josie shares, "According to Tombola's research, cleaning the toilet is the top hated task. But for me, it's cleaning out my junk email box. I've joined their campaign, and it's been so much fun! Plus, I've got a bit of exercise in, too."

We couldn't end our conversation without asking Josie about her love for bingo. She laughs and confesses, "I'll let you in on a little secret. I actually bought my first car with my bingo winnings!" Josie is currently working with Tombola, Britain's biggest bingo site, on their campaign. Look out for QR codes around the UK and win exciting prizes. We thank Josie for her time, and she reminds us to catch her on her new shows and campaigns.
