IEA urges less commuting and remote work amidst worsening global oil crisis.

The International Energy Agency recently released a set of guidelines to tackle the rising oil prices caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The agency, which consists of members such as the U.S., U.K., and Australia, urged immediate action as the military strikes on Iran have resulted in one of the largest disruptions in the global oil market. In response to this crisis, the IEA has recommended 10 measures for governments, businesses, and households to implement.

These measures include working from home, reducing highway speed limits, carpooling, and increasing the use of public transportation. The IEA also suggests shifting to more sustainable energy sources such as electric cooking and biofuels, and converting vehicles from liquid petroleum gas to gasoline.
