Chelsea has been hit with some unfortunate news as defender Trevoh Chalobah will be out for six weeks due to an ankle injury. This means that he will not be able to play in their upcoming Premier League match against Everton on Saturday. Alongside Chalobah, Reece James will also be unable to play due to an injury.
The injury occurred during Chelsea's 3-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday. Chalobah had to be stretchered off the field and it was a worrying sight for both the team and fans. James, on the other hand, sustained a hamstring injury during their match against Newcastle United last Saturday and had to miss the PSG game as well.
During a press conference on Thursday, Chelsea's assistant coach Liam Rosenior provided an update on both Chalobah and James. He expressed his concern for Chalobah's injury, stating that it was a relief that the injury was not as serious as they initially feared. However, it is still a significant injury and Chalobah will be out for approximately six weeks.
As for James, Rosenior mentioned that they will be monitoring his injury after the international break. While it is not a serious injury, they want to ensure that he fully recovers before putting him back on the field. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen also had an injury that required a minor operation and he will be out for a few weeks as well.
Despite these setbacks, Rosenior remained positive and stated that the team is in a better place now than they were right after the PSG game.
