A young person arrested for making offensive comments about Majhi.

In Hatadihi, a small village in Kendujhar district, an incident took place that has now caught the attention of the local police. On Sunday, a 28-year-old man named Sushant Das was arrested for reportedly making lewd and derogatory comments about Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on various social media platforms. After receiving a complaint, the police wasted no time in tracking down the accused.

With the help of advanced technology, they were able to locate Sushant in his village of Ichhapur, under the Kalinga panchayat in Hatadihi block. They also seized his mobile phone, which was believed to have been used in the alleged offense. According to investigators, Sushant had shared a video on his Facebook account, 'Das Kumar Das Sushant,' in which he can be heard making disrespectful remarks about the Chief Minister.

This post sparked outrage and led to demands for strict legal action against Sushant. The complaint was filed on July 31st by Kahnei Charan Das, a resident of Kalinga village, at the Nandipada police station. The police acted swiftly and registered a case, 314/2026, under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The complainant also provided a recording of the offensive video as evidence. Dharmendra Shanti, the in-charge of Nandipada police station, confirmed the arrest and assured that further investigation was being carried out to uncover all aspects of the case. It is yet to be seen what consequences Sushant will face for his actions, but it serves as a reminder that one must be mindful of their words and actions on social media.
