Indian PM Modi begins trip to France as part of two-country tour.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on his journey to France where he will engage in discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron and participate in the G-7 Summit. The first stop on his trip will be a bilateral meeting with Macron on Sunday, followed by the inauguration of ‘Bharat Innovates’ alongside the French president. This event aims to bring together top innovation startups and Venture Capital funds from India, France, and other countries.

During their meeting, both leaders will take a comprehensive look at the India-France bilateral relationship. Earlier this year, this relationship was elevated to the level of a Special Global Strategic Partnership, showcasing the strong bond between the two nations. Additionally, Modi has stated that at the upcoming G7 Summit, India will not only represent its own interests, but also give a voice to the aspirations of the Global South.

In his statement before departing for France and Slovakia, Modi expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in India by its partners, which is reflected in its presence at the G7 Summit and its rising global profile. After his time in France, the prime minister will travel to Slovakia for a state visit on June 14-15. There, he will hold talks with President Peter Pellegrini and Prime Minister Robert Fico in Bratislava, as well as engage with business leaders.

The G7 Summit, which will take place in Evian, France on June 16-17, is expected to cover a wide range of global issues. Prime Minister Modi's presence at the summit is a testament to India's growing importance on the global stage. It also highlights the country's commitment to working with other nations to tackle global challenges and promote mutual progress.

As the leader of one of the world's largest democracies, Prime Minister Modi's presence at the G7 Summit and his diplomatic engagements with other world leaders serve as a reminder of India's position as a major player in international affairs. This visit to France and Slovakia will undoubtedly strengthen India's ties with these nations and pave the way for further collaboration in the future.
