Ujjain, a city with a glorious past and a spiritual heritage, recently witnessed a fight breaking out between a car driver and toll employees at Narwar toll post. The altercation happened at 2am on Monday. Both the parties proceeded to the police station and lodged complaints against each other.
Mohammad Akbar, 27, son of Iqbal, a resident of Kot Mohalla, Ujjain, claimed that he was driving to Bhopal for Ijtema while his companions were in another car. He alleged that the toll employees abused and beat them and even broke the glass of the cars. On the other hand, toll employee Pradeep, 20, son of Rajesh Prajapat, resident of Narwar, filed a complaint against the other party and said that they were beaten up over the issue of toll tax.
The police have also registered another case of fraud, which happened recently in Ujjain. Neelganga police reported that a woman working as a security guard at Mahakaleshwar temple was cheated of Rs 4 lakh by a man. He promised her a permanent job in the temple and also promised to get her a job in the Smart City and forest department. The woman was fooled by the man for one year, and he would call her pretending to be a former collector and temple administrator.
To tackle the rising cases of crime, Ujjain has appointed a new police officer Mohan Yadav as a tough task master who wants to revive the past glory of the city. He hopes to restore the spiritual legacy of the city and make it a safer place.
