David Tennant & Michael Sheen's Staged ends after 3 series.
David Tennant and Michael Sheen's beloved lockdown series Staged is coming to an end. After three successful series, the popular comedy will no longer be produced. The series was born out of the pandemic and showcased Tennant and Sheen as themselves, trying to organise a stage show over Zoom calls.

It's no surprise Staged was such a huge hit. The show provided plenty of comedic moments, and even featured cameos from some of Hollywood's biggest stars, such as Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Jackson and Whoopi Goldberg. David Tennant's wife Georgia Tennant and Michael Sheen's partner Anna Lundberg also made appearances.

"We've had a wonderful time filming the series but have no plans to do more," Tennant told The Sun. "It was a show borne out of a particular period of time - lockdown - when we were all in our houses communicating via Zoom, as our characters did in the show. We couldn't get out. Now, as the characters demonstrate in some of the scenes in the new series, we can."

Michael Sheen previously shared his thoughts on the secret to the show's success. "We didn't take ourselves too seriously and made fun of ourselves - I think people enjoyed that," he told the BBC. "I'm using the sort of format and medium that everyone is using. Having to do calls on Zoom and all that kind of stuff - so we've been able to tap into what's funny and absurd about that as well. Also, having lovely surprises like Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson, we have lots more of those surprises in this new series."

Staged is available to stream on BBC iPlayer and Britbox. If you haven't had a chance to watch it yet, now is the perfect time to do so. You won't regret it!
