However, those who are not eligible for a subsidy will have to pay a 8 percent more on their monthly bills.
Atishi further alleged that the hike is a result of the Centre's mismanagement. She said that electricity is getting costlier in the city due to the Centre's use of imported coal which is ten times more expensive than domestic coal, despite the availability of coal in the country.

BJP leaders say that the government is not taking any steps to reduce the burden on the people of Delhi.
