The state of Madhya Pradesh is gearing up for the upcoming election in 2023. Sonkatch/Pipalrawan constituency is considered to be the hot seat as both the Congress and BJP have announced their respective candidates. Congress leader Sajjan Verma, a five-time MLA from Sonkatch, and BJP leader Rajesh Sonkar, former MLA and Indore rural BJP president, filed their nomination papers on Friday.

Sajjan Verma started his day by seeking blessings at Khedapati Hanuman temple in Dewas. Followed by a public gathering at Maharana Pratap Chowk, he took a pledge to bring down the BJP government and took out a procession of hundreds of party workers with him. On this occasion, Dewas city president Manoj Rajani, Senior Advocate Satyanarayan Lathi and Mahendra Talaud were also present.

Rajesh Sonkar visited Shri Koteshwar Mahadev temple prior to submitting his nomination papers. Accompanied by thousands of party workers, he filed his nomination. In his address to the gathering, Sonkar expressed his gratitude to the people of Sonkatch and said he was overwhelmed by their love and support. Many senior BJP leaders, including Bahadur Singh Pilwani, were present with him.

With the upcoming MP election, the BJP is eyeing a hat-trick of electoral success in the Manasa seat while Congress is fielding a senior leader in the constituency to reclaim the seat. It remains to be seen which party will come out triumphant in the 2023 election.
