Chelsea has received a £25m bid for an English player following the completion of the Maxence Lacroix deal.

Chelsea have been quite active in the transfer market lately, with reports stating that they are looking to finalize a deal for Crystal Palace's defender Maxence Lacroix, while also receiving an offer from Como for Trevoh Chalobah. Lacroix had expressed his desire to leave Selhurst Park at the end of last season, and Chelsea quickly emerged as the favorites to sign him. It seems like talks between the two clubs have progressed swiftly in the past week, with Lacroix set to make a move across London for a whopping fee of £52million.

This would make him Chelsea's third signing since Xabi Alonso joined the team, following the arrivals of Marco Palestra and Morgan Rogers. Lacroix's arrival could also pave the way for another defender to leave, as Chalobah has attracted interest from Serie A side Como. Chalobah is reportedly keen on joining Como and working under the guidance of Cesc Fabregas, but Chelsea have already rejected their initial bid for the 27-year-old, who was recently part of the England squad at the World Cup.

However, it seems like Como are not giving up easily, as they have returned with an improved offer of £22million plus an additional £3million in achievable add-ons. Despite this, Chelsea value Chalobah at around £30million and are expected to turn down Como's bid. The defender has been with the Blues since his days in the club's academy and is under contract until 2028.

Chelsea have already seen four first-team players leave this summer, including Alejandro Garnacho who joined Aston Villa on loan with an option to buy. Meanwhile, the Blues are also close to securing the signing of Lacroix, who has been a key target for the club.
