Chelsea has made a move to acquire a Real Madrid player after their initial offer of £68m was turned down.

New Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has set his sights on Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga as a potential target for the Blues. This comes after Chelsea's unsuccessful attempts to sign Bournemouth's Alex Scott, with three bids being rejected by the club. Alonso has identified Scott, 23, as his top choice to replace Enzo Fernandez, should the Argentine leave Stamford Bridge in the final week of the summer transfer window.

Fernandez had expressed his desire to leave Chelsea at the start of the summer, but a potential move to Real Madrid fell through. However, there is still a possibility of him leaving the club, as Manchester City and his former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca have both shown interest in signing him. Man City, who are set to make an £86m deal for Morocco international Ayyoub Bouaddi, are also pursuing Fernandez.

Maresca, who has lost Ballon d'Or winner Rodri to Barcelona for £65m, is on the lookout for another midfielder and has his sights set on Fernandez. Chelsea, on the other hand, are not actively looking to sell their player and have quoted a hefty fee of £120m to interested clubs. In the event that Fernandez does leave, Chelsea have already made plans to secure a replacement, with Scott being their top target.

The 23-year-old has been linked with several top Premier League clubs and Chelsea had previously made a bid of £62m for him. However, Bournemouth have received two more offers from the same club, with the highest one being £68m, but have rejected all three bids and made it clear that Scott is not for sale before the transfer deadline. Aside from Scott, Chelsea are also keeping an eye on other midfielders, including Camavinga, Adam Wharton, and Manu Kone, according to talkSPORT.

Camavinga has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, with Manchester United previously showing interest in him before signing Carlos Baleba from Brighton. Wharton and Kone, on the other hand, have caught the attention of several clubs following their impressive performances for Crystal Palace and Roma, respectively. In the meantime, Fernandez came on as a substitute in Chelsea's Premier League opener against Fulham on Monday, where they emerged victorious in a thrilling 5-4 match.

The Blues will now face Luton Town in the EFL Cup on Thursday before returning to Premier League action against Brighton on Sunday.
