Broncos plan to build a $175 million training complex at a fast pace, revealing their vision at a groundbreaking event.

The construction project for the new Broncos headquarters and training facility is now in full swing. The ceremonial shovels in a box of dirt may have been a symbol, but there is no doubt that the $175 million project is officially underway. As we celebrate this exciting milestone, it's clear that progress is being made with fencing put up and construction equipment being brought in. The 215,000-square-foot building, which CEO and owner Greg Penner described as a world-class facility dedicated to football, will soon be a reality. Penner expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "This is going to be a great facility. It's going to be modern, but not too big. We want our players to have their own spaces and feel at home here." He also mentioned that the facility will bring together all employees, creating a collaborative environment that will help the team achieve their goals. The planning and execution of this project is meticulous, down to the smallest details. Broncos president Damani Leech shared that they have carefully calculated the distances between key areas such as the locker room, weight room, rehab areas, practice fields, and cafeteria. Currently, players have to walk between three different buildings at the Broncos Park, which can be difficult in cold and icy conditions. This new building will streamline their daily routine and is designed to be on par with other top facilities in the NFL. The timeline for this project is tight, with the goal of moving the team from the existing facility to the new one in June 2026, just in time for training camp. Leech admitted that he is most nervous about the process of moving all their equipment and belongings to the new building. However, the team has a secret weapon in Amy Dee, who has extensive experience in global construction and has built offices around the world for companies like Netflix. The idea for a new training complex was first discussed between Penner and senior vice president of operations Chip Conway. The cost and effort to maintain the current building to NFL standards were becoming too high, and other options were considered, such as turning the headquarters into part of an entertainment district or building a new one at the stadium. However, Penner explained that Denver ultimately decided against these options due to timing and the potential complications of combining work and entertainment spaces. With the groundwork laid, the real work begins for the Broncos. Their goal is to have the new facility ready for training camp in 2025, with only one summer impacted by the construction. Leech confirmed that the team plans to stay at the current site rather than moving elsewhere for training camp. In other news, the Broncos signed inside linebacker Kristian Welch and waived rookie inside linebacker Levelle Bailey, who had just made the team as an undrafted free agent. Welch, who was recently cut by the Green Bay Packers, has shown promise and will be a valuable addition to the team.
