"It was filmed in a sound stage in an enclosed carriage," Nicola explained. "We had the script and knew the sexy bits, what points we needed to it, but we were waiting for the director to call cut when we get to Bridgerton house, or say stop when we get to Bridgerton house. And we just weren't hearing it."
But they insisted that they weren't just "lost in the moment," explaining that they "just went for it" because they hadn't heard the director's cue. Nicola recalled, "It got to a point where we'd just been kissing for ages, so I just went, 'Oh we're at Bridgerton house,' and then there was just silence. And the director came to the window and went, 'What were you doing?' and we went, 'What?' and he was like, 'I was shouting out to stop!' We swear we did not hear it."
In a recent interview with The Agency, Nicola and Luke opened up about their intimate moments on screen and how they were able to feel "empowered" while filming. Nicola explained that working with their intimacy coordinator, Lizzy Talbot, was "amazing" and gave them control over their scenes. She said, "It's not like, you kiss for three seconds and then you move your hand. We knew we had to hit certain points, but we were able to flow with it and make it seem natural and organic. It's amazing having that control. It makes you feel very empowered."
As for what fans can expect in the upcoming episodes, Nicola teased that there will be even more steamy scenes, including some famous moments from the books. She said, "There's more famous scenes from the books in there as well. But... you're in for a treat. Sorry for the wait, but it'll be worth it."
