'Black Women Talk Tech' will be hosting a conference in Toronto called 'Roadmap to Billions' focused on empowering black women in the tech industry.
For the second consecutive year, the inspiring and innovative collective known as Black Women Talk Tech is bringing their Canadian version of the Roadmap to Billions conference to the bustling city of Toronto. This event, presented by Accelerate Auto, is dedicated to equipping and empowering Black women founders in the tech industry through educational resources and community engagement. Scheduled for October 5th and 6th, the conference has partnered with esteemed organizations like Nobellum, PitchBetter, and Ambition to make this a truly impactful experience.

In the words of co-founder Regina Gwynn, this conference is not just a mere gathering, but a powerful movement. The team is thrilled to return to Toronto with even more energy, deeper partnerships, and exciting opportunities for Black women entrepreneurs to access crucial resources like capital, mentorship, and a supportive community. With Accelerate Auto as the presenting sponsor, their mission to ensure Black women are at the forefront of tech innovation in Canada and beyond is being accelerated even further.

Over the course of two days, attendees can look forward to engaging panel discussions, a professional headshot studio, and valuable workshops, including the popular Braindate session which offers effective networking strategies. Emerging founders will also have the chance to connect with investors and industry leaders through the Mentor Marketplace. And to top it off, attendees will have the opportunity to be a part of a live recording of Currencies, the Black Women Talk Tech podcast.

But that's not all - attendees have the exciting opportunity to participate in a pitch competition with a grand prize of $10,000 CAD. To be eligible, participants must identify as Black women and own a tech business in Canada. The impressive lineup of speakers for this year's conference includes influential business leaders and trailblazers such as the Hon. Marci Ien, former Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth of Canada; Kay Layne, founder of Kayambi; Yolanda Biswah, President of the Canadian Black Book; Amoye Henry, Co-Founder of Pitch Better; and Nkechi Nwafor-Robinson, Founder and CEO of Empowered in My Skin.
