The Metropolitan Police seized several supercars worth over £8 million from the streets near Hyde Park over the weekend, and while most of them were being loaded onto a flatbed truck to be taken to the police impound lot, one officer couldn't resist the temptation to get behind the wheel of this rare and exclusive vehicle. The Ferrari Monza SP2 is one of only 499 ever made by the Italian luxury carmaker, with one recently selling for a whopping $4,995,000.

As the officer slipped on a pair of sunglasses and took the sleek black car for a spin past Marble Arch, it was clear that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him. The car had only arrived in the UK the day before and its owner had already been caught driving without proper insurance. The police operation, led by Special Chief Inspector Geoff Tatman, resulted in the seizure of 90 vehicles over the weekend, including a Lamborghini Revuelto.

Tatman explained that they often receive complaints from local residents about dangerous driving and loud, modified cars causing a nuisance. Through operations like this, they aim to arrest these drivers and take their cars off the roads to send a clear message that such reckless and dangerous behavior will not be tolerated. What's more, the police now have new powers to immediately seize cars from drivers who are using them for antisocial behavior, rather than just giving them a warning.

This means that anyone caught driving in a way that annoys or alarms the public can have their vehicle taken away on the spot. According to the Met, 15 cars were seized under this legislation over the weekend alone. This kind of swift action is necessary to keep the roads safe and protect the public from dangerous drivers.
