BJP workers in MP's Maheshwar create opposition to their own party's candidate Rajkumar Meo.
BJP workers in the Maheshwar assembly constituency of Khargone district have been protesting against the party's candidate Rajkumar Meo. On Sunday, BJP workers gathered outside the rest house and raised slogans against Rajkumar Meo. Maharashtra MLA Suresh Bhole, who was assigned Maheshwar constituency responsibility by senior party leaders, was present in the protest.

At the meeting of booth president, Shakti Kendra convenor, Mandal, and Morcha executive held in Mandleshwar Mandal at Sardar Patel International School on Wednesday, local workers expressed their opposition to Rajkumar Meo, leading to the adjournment of the meeting. In response to the protesters, Suresh Bhole said he would try his best to reach out to them.

The workers did not calm down after the meeting. They took out a rally from Ambedkar Chowk to Bus Stand Chowk, carrying an effigy of Rajkumar Meo and chanting slogans. At the bus stand chowk, they burned the effigy. Purushottam Pawar expressed his indignation and said that the workers do not want this candidate and the BJP high command must take their demands into consideration or else the movement will gain more momentum. The workers also stated that Rajkumar Meo had contested as an independent candidate in 2018 in front of the BJP's candidate Bhupendra Arya, which resulted in the authorized candidate of the BJP coming in third place. Thus, they do not want a 'traitor' candidate from their area and would prefer a local candidate.

The protest against the BJP candidate Rajkumar Meo in Maheshwar assembly constituency continues.
