A Yorkshire woman's gorilla statue, once evicted from her home, now resides in Mayfair.

Caesar, the lovable gorilla, has embarked on a new adventure in London, accompanied by his owner Adele Teale and Flight Centre's general manager Joe Beevis. After a whirlwind tour of the capital, Caesar has finally settled into his new home, thanks to the generosity of Flight Centre. This happy ending comes after Caesar faced an uncertain future when he was evicted from his home by the local council in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

But, as they say, every cloud has a silver lining. Caesar's fame as a viral sensation caught the attention of Flight Centre, who happily adopted him and gave him a place of honor at their store on South Molton Street in London. It's quite a change from his previous residence in Wakefield, where he had been proudly displayed on a platform by Adele for the past 12 months.

Adele, who has owned the 4ft fibreglass gorilla for 20 years, expressed her delight at Caesar's new habitat. She has always had a special love for gorillas and had previously kept Caesar at her home in Leeds for 15 years without any issues. Sadly, earlier this year, Adele received a notice from the Wakefield Council that someone had complained about Caesar's presence and she had to remove him as she didn't have planning permission.

This led to Caesar's first-ever trip to London, where he took a scenic route to his new home. He made sure to pose for pictures with famous landmarks such as Big Ben, Downing Street, and Piccadilly Circus along the way. Joe Beevis, the general manager at Flight Centre, shared their excitement at providing a new home for Caesar.

As a company that promotes sustainable tourism, Flight Centre saw this as a natural fit. Joe emphasized the importance of live wildlife encounters, which can only be possible with the preservation of animals, their habitats, and the local communities. He also shared how they took great care of Caesar during his journey to London and even took him around the city to show him the sights.

Caesar's owner, Adele, also shared her happiness at this turn of events. She mentioned how Caesar has been a part of her life for over 20 years and she wasn't going to give up on him without a fight. She expressed her gratitude towards Flight Centre for taking good care of Caesar and shared that this is not a permanent goodbye, as Caesar will return to Wakefield eventually.

For now, he is enjoying his time in London, which Adele believes suits him perfectly. For those who wish to meet Caesar in person, he can be found at Flight Centre's store on South Molton Street in Mayfair. To celebrate his arrival, Flight Centre is offering 10% off selected Africa Tours with their travel partner, Intrepid Travel, for a limited time.
