I think it made a huge impact on the R&B landscape. It was a time when female artists were making music that wasn’t just geared towards the guys. It was something different, something fresh, and something that represented us. It was a huge statement for women in the industry, and I think it took a lot of people by surprise. I was super grateful to be able to make music that was relatable to so many.

I was also the first artist to have a number one song and album at the same time—and I did it twice. So, for me to make history like that was amazing, and I hope it inspires other artists to do the same.
