A man in New South Wales has recently been hit with 29 new charges for allegedly producing online content involving bestiality. Police arrested him as part of an investigation into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children on the internet, led by Strike Force Trawler.
It all started in February when authorities conducted raids in the Sydney area, targeting individuals who had been sharing child abuse material online. During their investigations, they came across an online profile under the name 'Beast Boy'. Upon further inquiry, they discovered that this person had a significant online presence and was using encrypted messaging apps to share disturbing content involving bestiality.
The content featured the sexual abuse of various animals, including dogs, sheep, goats, chickens, and even a dead kangaroo. In April, the police arrested a 38-year-old man during a raid in Moorland, located about 30km north of Taree on the Mid North Coast. During the raid, they also found a dog that had been missing for five years, and it was later returned to its owner by the RSPCA.
The man was initially charged with 20 offences and is currently facing court proceedings. However, after further investigations and the analysis of seized electronics and hard drives, authorities were able to identify thousands of videos and images involving bestiality and child abuse material. As a result, an additional 29 charges will be brought against him when he appears in court today.
These new charges include bestiality, animal cruelty, and possessing child abuse material. The Strike Force Trawler is still conducting inquiries, and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
