In a recent appearance as the 'Fab Four', professional lipreader Nicola Hickling provided insight into a tense exchange between Prince William and Prince Harry. The brothers, along with their spouses Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, were seen publicly for the first time since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. Hickling, who is part of the Channel 5 show Lip-Reading The Royals, shared her thoughts on the argument that took place between the brothers in 2022, just two days after the queen's death.
During a royal walkabout at Windsor Castle, the two brothers seemed to be subtly bickering, as noted by Hickling. She also revealed that both Kate and Meghan attempted to diffuse the situation by sternly telling the brothers to stop arguing as they embarked on their official duties. It's unclear what the argument was about, but William reportedly responded to Harry's tap on the shoulder with, "Why are we together?
This is not the end." Meghan could also sense the tension and warned the brothers, "Not today." Harry then replied, "Not now, please. I didn't foresee this." In an effort to put an end to the animosity, Kate once again firmly told the brothers to stop arguing so they could continue with their engagement. Despite the attempt to show unity, it was clear that the brothers were not getting along.
This is just one of the many instances of royal drama that the new Channel 5 show has been showcasing since its release earlier this year. In a previous episode, experts claimed that former Prince Andrew was seen begging Prince William for forgiveness after the funeral of the Duchess of Kent. However, William maintained a stern expression and appeared to give his uncle the cold shoulder.
This happened before Andrew was formally stripped of his titles in October, while still under intense scrutiny for his connections to Jeffrey Epstein. The show also captured a humorous moment at King Charles' coronation in 2023. After leaving the ceremony in a gilded carriage, the new king appeared to be in a bad mood and was scolded by Queen Camilla for swearing.
Hickling shared, "As Charles gets into the carriage, he lets out a sigh and then mutters, 'f*** me'. And then very quickly Camilla responds, 'Frankly, I don't want to hear that.'" It just goes to show that even royalty are not immune to swearing, allegedly. What are your thoughts on this latest revelation from Lip-Reading The Royals?
