Allegedly, former glamour model Jo-Emma Larvin had a role in covertly transporting £5 million of criminal money to Dubai, a court was told. Larvin, 44, is said to have placed the funds in suitcases when she flew from London Heathrow twice in 2020. The court heard that smugglers were paid approximately £3,000 plus expenses and were given hotel accommodations. Larvin's partner, 55-year-old Jonathan Johnson, was with her on her second trip to Dubai. The couple, who currently reside in Ripon, North Yorkshire, are joined by four other defendants in denying the charge of moving criminal property from the UK – Amy Harrison, 27, from Worcester Park, Surrey, Beatrice Auty, 26, from Fulham, west London, and Liam Rabone, 29, from West Kensington, west London. It is reported that individuals in the smuggling ring flew business class in order to take more luggage, which was packed with typical vacation items to conceal the money. Prosecutors declared that Ms Larvin and Ms Harrison smuggled an estimated £2.2 million in seven suitcases in August 2020 and that Ms Larvin and Mr Johnson smuggled £2.8 million in eight suitcases in September 2020. The couple was apprehended in March 2022.
