800 model schools to be established by Odisha Chief Minister as part of central education program.

On a pleasant Sunday afternoon, the Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, announced that the state will be transforming around 800 schools into model educational institutes through a central scheme. These schools will be equipped with modern infrastructure, digital education, smart classrooms, and innovative teaching methods, all thanks to the PM Schools for Rising India scheme, as stated by Majhi. During an event at Kushaleswar Government High School in Keonjhar district, the Chief Minister praised the school's education system, stating that it not only focuses on textual knowledge but also instills ethics, discipline, and values in its students.

Addressing the students, Majhi emphasized that education is not just about securing a job, but also about building a meaningful life. In today's competitive world, academic knowledge alone is not enough. Skills, creativity, and new ideas are also crucial, as mentioned by the Chief Minister.

To improve the education system and provide better opportunities for students, the state budget for 2026-27 has allocated more than Rs 31,997 crore for the school and mass education department. Additionally, in the last one-and-a-half years, 20,000 teachers have been appointed, and steps are being taken to appoint another 45,000 teachers, as revealed by Majhi. Furthermore, Majhi also shared that efforts are being made to establish Godabarish Mishra Adarsh Primary Schools in every panchayat, further strengthening the education system in the state.
