As the ninth day of the Wimbledon Championships begins, all eyes are on the young Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz, who is just two wins away from the final. Seeded third in the tournament, Alcaraz is determined to defend his Wimbledon title and achieve a rare Channel Slam after his recent victory on clay at the French Open.
Today, Alcaraz will be facing American 12th-seed Tommy Paul on the No.1 Court, where he will undoubtedly be the main attraction. But before that, the day kicks off with New Zealand's surprise qualifier Lulu Sun taking on unseeded Czech Donna Vekic at 1pm. Sun, who has been on an impressive run, recently eliminated British wildcard Emma Raducanu and is now facing a player ranked 86 places above her. It will be an exciting match to watch and see if Sun can continue her fairytale journey at SW19.
Over on Centre Court, the world's number one player Jannik Sinner will be starting the day at 1:30pm. The Italian top seed will be facing Russian fifth-seed Daniil Medvedev in what is expected to be a thrilling match. Following that, the seventh-seed Jasmine Paolini will take on 19th-seed Emma Navarro, a talented and incredibly wealthy tennis player with a net worth of £3 billion.
