Will the new Assassin's Creed game, Black Flag Resynced, be worth buying?

The letters page predicts that Fate Of The Old Republic will diverge from KOTOR, while a reader claims Valve is uninterested in Steam Machine sales.

Will the new Assassin's Creed game, Black Flag Resynced, be worth buying?

Are you interested in the upcoming Assassin's Creed game, Black Flag Resynced? The Wednesday letters page seems to think that Fate of the Old Republic will be a very different game from KOTOR. One reader argues that Valve doesn't care about the sales of their Steam Machine.

While I did enjoy the original game, it's been a long time since its release and the series has changed a lot since then. It's strange how it seems like they've made a lot of changes, but at the same time, not much has changed. Personally, I don't want to support the trend of remakes.

Resident Evil is an exception for me, as the old games are nearly unplayable now and the remakes are released frequently. However, Assassin's Creed doesn't really need a remake. In fact, I believe they're still selling the original version of the game.

With how long it takes to make games nowadays, it seems like a waste of time and resources to spend five years remaking a game that didn't necessarily need it. As another reader mentioned, I would have preferred a Black Flag 2 instead of a remake. I'm not saying that I won't consider buying it, but I'll wait for the reviews before making a decision.

Ubisoft seems to think it's a no-brainer, but I'm not so sure. DecaDeka raises a valid point. Moving on to a bigger topic, it's no secret that GTA 6 is going to be a massive success.

It's highly anticipated and I have a feeling that its sales will exceed all expectations. Even if the game turns out to be terrible, it will still sell millions of copies. The demand for this game is unprecedented and it's going to be bigger than any movie, TV show, or musician.

Whether you're a fan or not, it's hard to deny the sheer number of people who will be lining up to buy it on release day. I believe it will even surprise those who are currently underestimating it. Korbie makes a good point about the impact it will have on the gaming industry and beyond.

Shifting gears to Valve, it's clear that they don't care about the sales of their Steam Machine or its controller. They have more than enough money and their hardware and VR projects seem to be more of a passion project for Gabe Newell rather than a way to make profits. While it's admirable to have such passion, it's not great for potential customers.

Not having pre-orders and not taking measures to prevent scalpers from inflating prices is not a good way to treat your customers. On the other hand, Nintendo made sure there were enough consoles to go around for the Switch 2 and even promised to keep prices steady despite tariffs. It's safe to say that won't be the case with the Steam Machine.

Onibee raises valid concerns. On a different note, I'm curious to see what Activision has in store for this year's Call of Duty. It surprises me to say that because I can't recall a company ever apologizing for a sequel.

But that's exactly what Activision did last year and I'm interested to see how they'll try to win back fans. I'm not sure what changes they could have made in just a year, but I'll give them a chance. I haven't played any Call of Duty games this generation, but that doesn't mean I won't be tempted back.

A lot of people make bold statements about never playing a certain game, but with something like Call of Duty, it's easy to take a break and come back later to see what improvements have been made. Creeper makes a good point. And finally, let's talk about GTA 6 again.

I can definitely see it selling more than 25 million copies in the first 24 hours. With the summer advertising campaign starting soon, there will be plenty of time for people to save up and pre-order the game. I wouldn't be surprised if it reaches 25 million pre-orders in just 24 hours.

I'm personally already prepared with £150 in my PSN wallet for when pre-orders go live. David is on the same page. That's all for now.

Don't miss out! Are you excited for the new Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced? The Wednesday letters page has some interesting thoughts about Fate Of The Old Republic and its potential differences from KOTOR.

I have to admit, I'm a bit hesitant about the new Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. While I enjoyed the original game, it was a long time ago and the franchise has changed a lot since then. It's strange how it seems like they've changed a lot and yet not much at all.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the trend of remaking old games. Sure, it's great for games like Resident Evil where the original versions are nearly unplayable now, but Assassin's Creed doesn't really fall into that category. In fact, they've even stated that they will continue to sell the old version of the game.

Considering how long it takes to make games nowadays, I don't think it's wise to spend five years remaking a game that didn't necessarily need it. As another reader mentioned, I would have much preferred a sequel to Black Flag rather than just a remake. While I'm not saying the remake won't be worth playing, I'll wait for the reviews before making a decision.

It's definitely not the no-brainer that Ubisoft seems to think it is. Moving on to a different topic, it's clear that GTA 6 is going to be a massive success. Even if it turns out to be a terrible game, the pent up demand for it is so high that it will still sell like crazy.

It's not just going to break gaming records, but it will even surpass records set by movies, TV shows, and musicians. Whether you like it or not, there's a huge audience waiting to buy it on day one. I think it will even surprise those who are trying to downplay its potential success.

Speaking of surprises, I'm curious to see what Activision has in store for this year's Call of Duty. It's rare to see a company apologize for a sequel, but they did just that last year. I'm intrigued to see what changes they've made in just one year to try and win back fans.

I haven't played a Call of Duty game this generation, but I'm open to giving them a chance. It's easy to make grand statements about never playing a game again, but with live service games like Call of Duty, it's possible to take a break and come back later to see if it has improved. On a different note, it's clear that Valve doesn't really care about the sales of their Steam Machine or its controller.

They make enough money as it is, and these projects seem more like pet projects for Gabe Newell rather than a way to make more money. While it's great to have that kind of attitude, it's not so great for potential customers. Not having pre-orders and not addressing scalpers is a poor way to treat those who may be interested in purchasing their products.

But let's not forget about the highly anticipated GTA 6. I wouldn't be surprised if it sells over 25 million copies in the first 24 hours alone. With the game being advertised in the summer, there's plenty of time for people to save up and pre-order it.

I, for one, have £150 in my PSN wallet just waiting for the pre-orders to go live. I'm sure I'm not the only one eagerly awaiting its release. Thank you for reading, and don't forget to add GameCentral as a preferred source for all your gaming news and reviews.
