Hey there! It's a beautiful day outside, can you feel the sunshine on your skin? I hope you're ready for some exciting news because the Monday letters page is buzzing with hope for some Star Wars Day reveals.

One of our readers even shared some footage of a cancelled third Maximo game. How cool is that? In case you're not familiar, Games Inbox is a collection of letters, comments, and opinions from our amazing readers.

We always love hearing from you, so feel free to join in on the discussions by emailing us at the provided email address. Now, let's talk about summer gaming. Every December, there's a lot of talk about what games are best to celebrate the season.

Usually, it's games like Christmas NiGHTS that come to mind, but what about the perfect game for those sunny days? For me, it's definitely Super Mario Sunshine. Sure, it may not be the best 3D Mario game, but I have such fond memories of playing it during the summer holidays.

I was surprised to find out that it actually came out in the summer in Japan and the US, but didn't make it to Europe until October. Maybe I played it the following summer, but I'm pretty sure I got it right when it came out. The bright and sunny setting, complete with beaches and a water pistol backpack, just screams summer to me.

It's kind of neat, don't you think? Speaking of things that are neat, Happy Star Wars Day everyone! I have my fingers crossed that we might get a tease of Star Wars Jedi 3 today.

I know there won't be a Star Wars Celebration until next year, so it would be amazing to get some news today. Although, with the director leaving, it's hard to say. But let's stay optimistic, shall we?

Now, let's talk about the possibility of Warhorse working on a new Lord of the Rings game. While I would love to see a big budget RPG set in that world, I'm not sure if Warhorse is quite big enough to take on such a massive project. The scale would have to be much bigger than their previous game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and that's going to cost a lot of money.

Personally, I'd rather see them work on something new. Kingdom Come was great at ignoring what other companies were doing and staying true to their own vision. We need more of that in the gaming industry, not just more licensed games.

On a different topic, have you seen those portable Commodore 64 and Spectrum systems? They look really cool, but I can't help but feel like we're avoiding the real issue here. Sure, it's easy to recreate the hardware, but what about the games themselves?

As much as I loved games like The Great Escape and Head Over Heels when I was younger, I don't think they hold up for new players nowadays. Even my own kids didn't find them entertaining. NES games, on the other hand, get constant remasters and remakes to keep them playable.

Maybe it's time for a fan project or a Kickstarter to give these old games the update they deserve. Otherwise, they may just fade from memory and never be played again. Lastly, let's talk about the new Resident Evil movie trailer.

I'm all for the filmmakers taking creative liberties and not following the games too closely. We've seen how that can go wrong with the previous Resident Evil movies. However, one thing that did bother me was the fact that it's snowing in the film.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember Raccoon City ever being portrayed as a winter wonderland. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was never implied to be winter and all the characters were dressed in light clothing. Even Jill, who famously rocks a boob tube in Resident Evil 3.

It's these little details that make it clear that the filmmakers don't care about staying true to the games. But hey, that's just my opinion. What do you think?

Now, let's talk about summer gaming. Every December, people love to discuss which games are best suited for the season. Usually, the top picks are Christmas NiGHTS or something similar.

But here's a question for you: what about the perfect game to play on a sunny day? Personally, my go-to is Super Mario Sunshine. Sure, it may not be the best 3D Mario game, but it holds a special place in my heart because it reminds me of my summer holidays.

Imagine my surprise when I looked up its release date and found out that it came out in the summer in Japan and the US, but didn't make it to Europe until October! Maybe I played it the following summer, but I don't think so. I have vivid memories of playing it during the summer and its bright, sunny setting, complete with beaches and a water pistol backpack, just screams summer to me.

I think it's pretty neat how a game can evoke such strong seasonal memories. Moving on, Happy Star Wars Day to all! I'm personally hoping we might get a glimpse of Star Wars Jedi 3 today, considering there won't be a Star Wars Celebration until next year.

I know it's a long shot, especially since the director left, but one can hope. How convenient! I have to say, I've thoroughly enjoyed the last two Star Wars games. However, I'm not a big fan of the grey Jedi theme with Cal.

The movies made it pretty clear that once you give in to the dark side, there's no turning back. So the idea of switching it on to get past a difficult part just doesn't sit right with me. But I guess that's the beauty of Star Wars - everyone has their own interpretation and opinion, and not everything will align with our expectations.

On a different note, I'm not sure how I feel about Warhorse potentially working on a new Lord of the Rings game. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see a big budget role-playing game set in that world, but I'm not sure if Warhorse is equipped to handle it. The scale would have to be much bigger than their previous game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and that would require a lot of resources.

Personally, I would love to see them create something entirely new. Kingdom Come was successful because it ignored what other companies were doing and focused on the developers' passion. We need more of that, not just more licensed games.

Oh, have you seen those Commodore 64 and Spectrum portables? They look pretty cool, but I can't help but feel like we're avoiding the real issue here. Sure, it's easy to recreate the hardware, but what about the games themselves?

They need a major update. I know it's unlikely, but I wish there were remasters of these old, UK-centric games. As much as I loved playing The Great Escape and Head Over Heels back in the day, I don't think they would entertain anyone new nowadays.

I've tried introducing my kids to them, but they just don't hold up. On the other hand, NES games get constant remasters and remakes to keep them relevant. Perhaps a fan project or Kickstarter could revive these old games, but I have a feeling they'll just fade into obscurity within the next decade.

Lastly, let's talk about the new Resident Evil movie trailer. I'm all for changes and adaptations when it comes to movies based on games, since what works in a game may not necessarily work on the big screen. However, one detail that really bugs me is the snow.

Why is it snowing in Raccoon City, before it gets nuked? That's never been portrayed in the games. It's not even implied to be winter, and I distinctly remember the characters wearing light clothing.

Jill even rocked a boob tube in Resident Evil 3! It's little details like this that make it clear the filmmakers don't care about staying true to the source material. But hey, that's just my opinion.

What do you think?
