Lewis Harrison, 32, was sentenced to two-and-a-half-years in jail at Hull Crown Court for his sexual abuse of a minor. The court heard how he had touched her intimately and kissed her multiple times. The victim had set up a secret camera to record his behaviour, to show evidence of the abuse.
Judge Mark Bury said that Harrison had "developed a sexual interest" in the girl and had been "sexually preoccupied" with her. He rejected the idea that the girl had a "crush" on him and said there had been "some grooming and planning involved".
Stephen Robinson, mitigating, said that at the time of the offence, Harrison had been a heavy drinker and a crack cocaine addict. However, the judge said there was no evidence that drugs or alcohol had been involved in the offence.
Robinson claimed that Harrison had shown that he could stay out of trouble since his previous convictions and had stopped taking drugs and hardly drinks. Harrison, of Biggin Avenue, Bransholme, Hull, denied the charges, but was found guilty by a jury after the trial. He was cleared of two other offences.
In addition to his jail term, Harrison must register as a sex offender for 10 years and has been given a five-year restraining order. The judge said that the victim could take comfort from the fact that her evidence had been agreed by the jury and that Harrison had been sentenced to prison.
