Unfortunately, both men passed away on the spot. The SUV then lost control and also struck Sita Devi, who was walking on the side of the road. Sita has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

ASP Radhey Shyam Rai informed that the accused driver, Lavkush Srivastav, has been taken into custody. According to locals, the SUV involved in the accident was a part of Karan Singh's cavalcade for the Kaiserganj Lok Sabha seat. The SHO shared, "They have also alleged that the occupants of the SUV abandoned the damaged car and fled in another vehicle." This incident has caused anger among the local community, who along with the victims' family members have blocked the road and are demanding the arrest of those involved in the accident.

The situation was diffused by senior police officials, who assured the protestors of swift action in the matter. The BJP had recently announced Karan Singh as their Lok Sabha candidate for Kaiserganj, replacing his father Brij Bhushan, who is currently facing charges of sexual harassment of women wrestlers. As per the SHO, "The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. We are in the process of lodging an FIR against the driver of the SUV."
