Two people have been arrested in connection with the double murder that took place at an Airfield.
After four days since the shocking double murder in Kuha village, the Special Squad of the Commissionerate Police has made a breakthrough in the case. Two suspects, who had been on the run to escape legal consequences, were apprehended from Hansapal locality. The police managed to seize a two-wheeler and a knife from the suspects upon their arrest. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Prateek Singh, revealed the identities of the accused as Ganesh Mallick, aged 34, and Pradeep Mallick, aged 39, who happen to be cousins. Following the brutal killings, the two culprits had fled to Puri and Chandikhol respectively, attempting to evade the authorities.

However, the cops were determined to bring the perpetrators to justice and began tracing their whereabouts by examining their Call Data Records and scrutinizing CCTV footage from the vicinity. Their efforts paid off when the duo was spotted heading back to their residence around 11:00pm on Saturday. The police immediately set up a trap in the Hansapal area and took the suspects into custody. Providing further details, Singh stated that the victims, Rashmiranjan Sethi, aged 24, and Sambit Rout, aged 23, were fatally stabbed during a heated altercation over a parking dispute near Block-5 of Kalyani Plaza, a residential apartment, on August 7. The duo tragically succumbed to their injuries on their way to Capital Hospital. The Airfield police have pressed charges against the arrested individuals under Sections 115, 117, 126, 103, and 3 of the BNS act.
