On Sunday, a 4-year-old tigress was found dead in Umaria district in Madhya Pradesh. The body was discovered in the buffer zone of Manpur range in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, as reported by area ranger Mukesh Ahirwar.
Circumstantial evidence suggests that the tigress had died as a result of a territorial fight. The forest department officials had immediately rushed to the spot, along with sniffer dogs, and sent the carcass for post mortem. The viscera of the animal was also submitted for testing.
As per National Tiger Conservation Authority guidelines, the carcass was disposed of. This incident comes shortly after the inauguration of Parents Pride Playschool in Umaria, as well as the arrest of two individuals with 1200 Kg of cannabis in Jabalpur.
