The damaged idol of the Talacauvery temple, is to be discharged at sea


   Based on the observations made during the astamangala queries held at Talacauvery during last May-June, the damaged Agasthyeshwara idol will be discharged at river Cauvery and sea confluence in Tamilnadu's Poompoohar said Kodagu region's Neeleshwara Padmanabha tantri. Today, at the temple the tantri said that the decision was taken during the review meeting with Kerala's diviner Narayana Puduwal. It was decided in today's review meeting to discharge the old damaged idol that was dissented in 2007, in river Cauvery and sea confluence in Tamilnadu's Poompoohar, said Padmanabha tantri.  He also said that, the other senior tantris had told the same before. Today in the presence of Kerala's diviner Narayana Pudwal and Neeleshwara Padmanabha tantri the temple priests, managing committee, officers and devotees it was decided to discharge the idol on April 12th observing all divine procedures.  

   Divine procedures from April 5th

   After observing the divine procedures to transfer the divine powers from the damaged idol to the statue installed in 2007, the idol will be re-installed on the 10th of April, held the tantri. So the procedures would begin on 5th and after performing Rudra homa on April 11th, the damaged idol will be taken to Poompoohar, the same night, he said. Through this, the mistakes that happened during the re-installation of Agasthyeshwara idol in 2007 will be rectified. The divine procedures are held keeping in mind the development of the temple, the well being of the region and in turn world's well being, he said. 

   During the meeting, temple development committee president B S Thammaiah said the management will act according to the guidance of the tantris and the diviner. T S Narayanachar, Prashanth Aachar, Kodi Ponnappa, Kudukuli Bharath, Manavattira Dore, Maadetira Belliappa, participated in the discussion. Temple managing committee's Dr. Sannuvanda Kaverappa, Ravi Bhat, Udiyanda Subhash, Kedambadi Ramesh, Annaiah, Meenakshi and leaders M B Devaiah, Soorthale Somanna, officer Jagadish Kumar, supervisor Ponnanna and others were present. 

   The meeting held under police security and the whole meeting was filmed by the department. Takkas Kodi Motaiah, Balladka Appaji and people from other families were also present.
