"Hey everyone, Michael Baggott here. I know you're used to seeing me on TV, but unfortunately, I'm currently in the hospital. I wanted to give you an update on my condition and share what's been going on with me lately.
I've been bedridden for the past five weeks in a stroke ward at a hospital in Birmingham, and let me tell you, it hasn't been easy. I've been sharing some videos with you all from my hospital bed, and I've received a lot of concern from my fans. I just want to say thank you for your support and love during this time.
So, what's been happening? Well, for the past week, I haven't been able to take in any fluids. This has caused me to become severely dehydrated. It's been a struggle, but I've finally been able to start taking fluids again for the past two days. However, it's still not enough to keep me hydrated. The intervals between receiving water have been quite long, ranging from 12 to 17 hours. It's been tough, and I'm honestly dying of thirst here in a British NHS hospital. I feel like no one is taking this seriously and doing anything about it.
I have to give credit where it's due though, the nursing staff and junior doctors here have been amazing. They genuinely want to help, but unfortunately, their hands are tied. The senior management and doctors, on the other hand, have been less than helpful. They always refuse to give me water or any treatment. In fact, one doctor even told me that if I don't improve in three weeks, I'll never be able to walk again. Of course, the junior staff reassured me that this was not the case, but it's just an example of the treatment I've been receiving here.
Just to give you all some context, I'm in the stroke department and have been bedridden for over a month now. It's been a tough journey, but I'm grateful for all the support I've been receiving from you all.
Now, onto some more positive news. In my last video, I mentioned feeling more hopeful, and I'm happy to say that's still the case. I finally got some hydration, and with Radio 3 playing in the background, I'm feeling slightly better. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and sent messages, you have no idea how much it means to me.
I've been reading through your comments, and I can see that many of you are concerned about me not receiving water. I can assure you that it's not because I can't swallow or that it would make me choke. The medical staff have their reasons, but I'm just glad to finally be getting some fluids now. Thank you all for your well wishes and support, it truly means a lot to me.
