Teen accused of causing paralysis in woman during robbery has had bail reduced.

A Houston Judge has decreased the bail of a teenager accused of paralyzing a woman from $200,000 to $100,000. According to prosecutors, Joseph Harrell allegedly robbed and assaulted the victim, causing her broken ribs, a fractured spine, and paralysis from below the arms. Catherine Evans, Harrell’s lawyer, confirmed that bond conditions were in place that would require Harrell to remain under 24 hour house arrest and wear a GPS monitor if family members were able to post the bond.

IMAGETAGGOESHERE Additionally, Zy'Nika Woods was also charged with robbery for allegedly being the getaway driver, who drove the car that followed the victim, Nhung Truong, to the bank. The victim suffered a fractured spine, broken ribs and is paralyzed from the waist down. Houston authorities claim that overall violent crime has decreased 8% and the murder rate decreased 9% compared to 2021; however, we will have to wait and see how the rest of the year goes.
