Taye Diggs and his team introduce a new platform for filmmakers to share their stories through vertical storytelling.

Taye Diggs, along with his partners Autumn Federici, Shelby Stone, James Black, and Troy Brookins, is making big moves in the world of filmmaking. They have come together to launch Microhouse Films, a new vertical video platform that gives filmmakers the power to distribute their work directly to their audience. According to Deadline, the platform's launch was announced on April 30, with the goal of supporting the next generation of vertical series.

Microhouse Films offers a range of services, allowing creators to produce, distribute, and monetize their work all in one place. Diggs explained the inspiration behind the platform, stating, "When we thought about how to make a meaningful impact in the vertical space, we immediately focused on the creators and storytellers who rely on the direction of this industry. Microhouse Films is all about creating a model that supports them in this next phase and empowers them to continue telling stories that move us." Mobile-first and completely free to use, Microhouse Films gives creators full control over monetization without any subscription or hosting fees.

There are also no ads, and filmmakers have the freedom to choose which episodes are available for free and which are behind a token-based pay system. This means they can set their own pricing, release strategy, and revenue model. The platform also offers built-in discovery tools, including customizable genre tags, as well as promotional features like shareable, branded landing pages for each series.

It builds on the popularity of microdramas, also known as "verticals," which gained traction in China during the COVID-19 pandemic and have since become popular in the United States through platforms like ReelShort and DramaBox. These short, low-budget, and serialized content have captured the attention of audiences. "The industry is evolving rapidly, and we have a unique opportunity to redefine who benefits in this new ecosystem that puts filmmakers in control," said partners Federici, Stone, Black, and Brookins.

"We're thrilled to introduce a new model for vertical storytelling with Microhouse Films that prioritizes both the quality of the work and the storyteller behind it." In addition to the launch of Microhouse Films, Diggs and his partners are also executive producing the microdrama "Tides of Temptation," featuring Swag Boy Q. This project expands on the world of "Terry McMillan Presents: Paradise With You," which also stars Diggs. This exciting venture by Taye Diggs and his partners not only supports the next generation of filmmakers but also opens up a new and innovative way to tell stories through vertical videos.

It proves that the industry is constantly changing, and they are determined to be at the forefront of this evolution.
