Western Railway's sportspersons have made us proud with their exemplary achievements at the 19th Asian Games held at Hangzhou, China. According to Shri Sumit Thakur - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, ace athlete Ms. Parul Chaudhary single-handedly won two medals for the organization - a gold medal in the Women's 5000m event and a silver medal in the Women's 3000m Steeplechase.
Ms. Rajeshwari Gayekwad was part of the Indian Women's Cricket team that bagged the gold medal at the Asian Games, while Ms. Navneet Kaur was a team member in the Indian Women's Hockey team that won the bronze medal.
Western Railway is also immensely proud of Ms. Shireen Limaye, who was the captain of the Indian Women's Basketball team and led them through several wins, reaching the Quarter Finals in the Asian Games.
