Snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan wants to coach two sports after he retires.
Ronnie O'Sullivan, one of the greatest snooker players of all time, is already thinking ahead to his future after he retires from the game. Despite still performing at a high level and winning multiple titles, the 49-year-old has his sights set on new ventures beyond the baize.

While he plans to stay involved in snooker, O'Sullivan's true passion lies in running. He hopes to give back to the sport that he has come to love by coaching runners at his local club. As someone who is also a dedicated and skilled runner himself, O'Sullivan believes he can offer valuable insight and guidance to aspiring athletes.

"I absolutely love it at the running club," O'Sullivan shared with Virgin Radio. "Once I'm done with snooker, I plan on getting my coaching badge and helping out with all types of runners whenever I have the time."

O'Sullivan's love for running is not a secret. He has been known to squeeze in a run whenever his busy snooker schedule allows. But now, he is excited to fully dedicate himself to the sport and share his knowledge with others.

When asked if he would consider coaching snooker players as well, O'Sullivan replied that he would be open to it. In fact, he has benefitted greatly from the guidance of coaches like Ray Reardon, Frank Adamson, and Steve Peters throughout his career. He hopes to pay it forward by mentoring a young player and helping them develop their skills and mental strength.

"If I can help another player like they helped me, that would be incredible," O'Sullivan said. "I truly believe that improving on your weaknesses is key in any sport. And the mental aspect is just as important. Steve Peters has been instrumental in my success and I want to pass on that knowledge to others."

As for when O'Sullivan plans to retire from playing snooker, that remains to be seen. He has been teasing his retirement for years, but continues to perform at a high level. However, he admits that he is not playing at his best currently and does not want to stay in the game past his prime.

"I don't want to end up like some of the greats who played on past their prime and couldn't compete anymore," O'Sullivan explained in an interview with SportsBoom. "I'm used to playing at a certain level and right now, I'm making so many mistakes that it's becoming frustrating. But I know my time in the game is limited, so I want to make the most of it and enjoy it while I can."
